We do not offer decorating or set up services. We do offer 200 white folding chairs, 6 six-foot long white tables, 11 six-foot round tables and 17 five-foot round tables on site that are included in the venue rental fee. It is the client’s responsibility (or vendors of the client) to set up and take down chairs and tables and leave the venue the way you found it. We do have planners that we can recommend to help you on your big day!
Gracely Hill can host up to 150 people inside the barn and out under the covered awning area. We have a spacious open barn area (2,500 sq. ft.) and an outside covered area (1,200 sq. ft.). We also have ample room for social gatherings and weddings outside of those two areas. Additional seating for 50 can be set up outside of the covered areas.
Gracely Hill is open during the months of April- October (excluding mid-August through the end of September due to our sunflower festival). The more temperate months are the most preferred times for weddings at our venue because the barn does not have heating or air conditioning at this time. We are closed November through March due to cold weather and mid-August through the end of September due to our sunflower festival.
Unfortunately, we are unable to hold dates. Our policy is first come, first served. We reserve the date for the first couple who decides to sign a contract for that date and pay the 50% deposit.

Anyone serving food or alcohol on the premises must be licensed and insured. We do have a list of preferred vendors that we will include with your contract should you choose to use them.
Yes, the venue has a warming kitchen, where final preparations can be made for serving food. To clarify, this is not a production kitchen where food is cooked. It is designed as a staging/prep area, available for warming and serving pre-cooked food to guests, it contains counter space, a microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator.

We do not allow candles, sparklers or other flames at the venue including fireworks and Chinese lanterns. LED candles are allowed. Nails, staples, glue and screws are not allowed because they cause damage to the wood in the barn/walls. We do allow zip ties, tape and command strips. Clients must remove all tape and command strips from the walls as part of the clean-up. Client must provide their own ladders for decorating.
Yes, but please keep in mind that if you plan on serving alcohol of any type you are required to procure an ABC license. Proof of license is required before you can host the wedding on Gracely Hill property. You will need to apply for the license 30 days prior to your event. You can go to the following website to apply for a license: https://www.abc.virginia.gov/. If someone is serving the alcohol, they must be a vendor that is a licensed and insured bartender. Your family and friends are not allowed to serve alcohol. Many caterers will bartend for you for an extra fee.
